I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on the other residents at Cosby Spears Memorial Towers. These are people who relied on Dahlaia every day for support and guidance, many of whom are probably still in shock over what happened. It’s unsettling to think how an act of violence like this can shatter a community that is supposed to be a safe haven for seniors and those with disabilities. It really underscores the importance of mental health resources in such communities. We need to ensure that everyone, especially vulnerable adults, can access the support they need before conflicts escalate into something so devastating. My heart goes out to everyone who called Dahlaia a friend, a mentor, or family. She seems to have been an incredible woman whose absence is deeply felt.
