Thinking of Darryl Wiley and his family today. It's truly hard to wrap my head around how something so trivial as a passing argument on the road could lead to the loss of a young life full of potential. Knowing that his girlfriend and her little daughter had to witness such a violent event just breaks my spirit. I can't imagine the trauma they’re dealing with right now. The community's support seems strong, which is comforting, but it doesn't bring back Darryl or erase the fear that little girl must now live with. I'm also amazed at how quickly they caught Eric Simmons. So often, it feels like these cases drag on without resolution, but seeing action taken is one small bit of relief in all this chaos. I hope the judicial process brings some ounce of justice for Darryl's loved ones. No one should fear this kind of violence could happen on what should be just another day. My heart goes out to anyone who knew and loved Darryl, and I hope we see some significant changes in how road rage incidents are managed in our communities to prevent another tragedy like this.
