Has anyone else been researching the Jim Jumper massacre? It's been a difficult story to delve into, but Jimmy Tiger’s death, along with the others, really deserves attention. While there are so many layers to this tragedy, I'm particularly struck by the lack of accountability or legal actions taken afterward. I can’t imagine how the families and friends of those lost must have felt knowing there wasn’t any formal justice system stepping in. In some ways, it’s a reflection of the Seminole community's autonomy at the time, but it also feels like such a heavy burden to bear alone amidst their mourning. I’d be interested to know how this event has been remembered within the Seminole community today, or if there’s any oral history still shared among descendants. Does anyone have insight into how they’ve preserved the memory of those lost?
