I was reading about Officer Joseph Bruce Burtner's case, and it got me thinking about the protocols officers have to follow in such high-pressure situations. It’s a stark reminder of how unpredictable and dangerous these calls can be, especially when mental health issues are involved. This case just really underscores the need for more comprehensive training and resources for law enforcement when they are dealing with potential mental health crises. My thoughts are with Officer Burtner's family and friends; no one should have to go through something like this.
