I’ve been following the Schenecker case for a while, and the aspect that really stays with me is the impact on Parker Schenecker and the extended family. It’s hard to imagine the level of trauma and grief he must have experienced being miles away, serving his country, only to receive news of such an unimaginable tragedy back home. The fact that he was overseas when it happened must have left him feeling so isolated and helpless. Losing both children in such a senseless act and then having to navigate the aftermath, including the painful divorce and civil proceedings, is more than one person should have to bear. It’s a reminder of how much support is needed for families going through such trauma. I hope he has found some semblance of peace and healing over the years. My heart truly goes out to him and anyone else who loved Beau and Calyx.
