I’ve been thinking a lot about that awful crime involving Benzo Ford, and something keeps bothering me. I remember reading that he was shot through a window in his own home. It just makes the whole situation so much more tragic to me, knowing he wasn’t even in a place where he could have felt remotely unsafe.
I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through, not only losing him but having it happen in such a vulnerable way. It’s like their sense of security has been shattered alongside his life. It's disheartening to think that someone knew exactly where he would be and chose to attack him when he was likely feeling comfortable and safe.
If this is happening in Fresno, who else might be in danger without even realizing it? The fact that it’s the 26th homicide that year speaks volumes about how much needs to be done to make neighborhoods safer. My heart goes out to Benzo’s family and friends. I hope they find some comfort and that justice prevails soon. If anyone saw or heard anything, coming forward would be such a huge step in helping this grieving family find some kind of peace.
Has anyone looked into the details surrounding the time of the shooting? I feel so much for Benzo’s family having to deal with this senseless act. If it was a targeted attack, I wonder what made that specific time significant to the shooter. Was it random, or did they know Benzo’s schedule well enough to choose that moment? It must be incredibly tough for the investigators, but any tiny detail might help piece this tragedy together. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him. I hope that as more people come forward, Benzo’s family will eventually find the closure they deserve.
