I’ve been following David Hilbert’s case and it’s just beyond devastating how a night meant for fun turned fatal. I’ve been thinking a lot about the safety of similar venues. With the Mint Lounge having a history of violent events, what can actually be done to improve the security measures and overall safety for patrons and staff? I can't imagine the pain David’s family and friends must be going through—and knowing he was just doing his job makes it all the more tragic. It’s important that these places have stricter protocols or support in place to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again. I hope the community continues to rally and provide information to help solve this case and bring closure to everyone affected. If anyone has ideas or has seen effective security practices at clubs, I’d love to hear what’s worked.
