This case has really stuck with me, and I keep thinking about Deputy Myers' dedication to both his family and his community. After reading more about his life, it’s clear he was deeply committed to both. Even after retiring, he chose to come back and serve to protect others. It speaks volumes about his character and his sense of duty. I can’t imagine the loss his family must be feeling. Not only did they lose a father and husband, but a true role model who cared so much for those around him. It's comforting to see the community rallying around his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Let’s continue to support them and remember the risks that every officer takes when they step into duty. If anything, this tragedy highlights how crucial it is to advocate for the wellbeing of those who serve and their families.

Has anyone else dug into the history of how these protective orders are served? It seems so risky. The fact that Deputy Myers, a dedicated public servant with such a rich career, was senselessly gunned down while just doing his job is beyond upsetting. I've been reading up on the procedures, and it seems like there's a lot of room for improvement in how this duty is handled to ensure officer safety. It's heartbreaking to think that after 26 years of service, both in the military and as a deputy, he'd face such danger in what's usually considered a routine part of the job. My thoughts are with his family, and I hope this tragedy brings about necessary changes to protect other officers. Anyone else have thoughts on how law enforcement can be better protected while serving these orders?

Hey everyone,
I keep thinking about the day of the shooting and how things could've been different. It's incredibly haunting to know that Deputy Myers was just doing his job, something he had devoted his life to for decades. The fact that he had only recently come out of retirement to help out shows the kind of person he was—committed and selfless. It's devastating for his family and the community that he was taken in such a senseless act of violence.
I can't help but wonder how we can better protect our officers when they're out there serving civil papers or responding to routine calls. It just goes to show that even the seemingly mundane parts of their duty can turn deadly. Myers was loved and respected by so many, and I hope we can honor his legacy by advocating for better safety measures for all law enforcement officers. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and colleagues. They deserve all the support we can give them in this difficult time.
