I’ve been thinking a lot about Khiem Vu, the youngest son who somehow found the strength to confront his father during that horrifying ordeal. It’s unimaginable what he must have gone through in that moment, but his bravery likely saved his sister’s life. It's remarkable for anyone, let alone a young person, to act with such courage in such a terrifying situation. I can't begin to comprehend the trauma Khiem is experiencing now, having lost his mother and brother in such a senseless act of violence. I genuinely hope he is receiving the support he needs to navigate this incredibly difficult time. My heart goes out to him and the surviving members of the Vu family, especially Whit, who is recovering from her injuries. It's stories like these that remind us just how important community support can be. I'd love to see us come together to support this young man, whether through donations for his future, therapy, or just kind words. Let’s keep Khiem and Whit in our thoughts and see what we can do to help them rebuild their lives.
