I've been following the case of Christopher Montay James, and I keep thinking about the day it happened—Halloween of all days. It's a time usually filled with fun and community, yet this tragic event shattered that sense of safety. I can't help but feel for Christopher's family and friends. They must replay that day over and over in their minds, just wishing things could have been different. It's also alarming how this shooting occurred in broad daylight. It just amplifies the fear and vulnerability we feel in our communities. I wonder if the presence of more public security footage would deter these crimes or at least help in solving them. Perhaps citizens banding together could push for wider surveillance in these areas? I know it's a double-edged sword with privacy concerns, but something needs to change to prevent more young lives from being cut short like Christopher's.
