Hi everyone, I’ve been following the case of Jose Gomez's tragic death, and one detail that I keep coming back to is his role at the Orlando Sentinel. From what I understand, Gomez had been with the paper for nearly a decade, working as a distribution representative. It seems like he really valued his work and was considered a reliable team member by his colleagues. Reading about the caring words shared by his coworkers, and the expressions of grief from the publisher and editor-in-chief, really makes it clear how much Gomez was appreciated and respected. It’s so unfair to think that someone with such a strong sense of responsibility could be caught up in something so terrible. I'm curious if anyone else has read about how his job might have intersected with the events that night. It makes me wonder about the pressures he might have faced or if there were any connections with his work that brought him to that specific location. It's just incredibly sad to know that a dedicated worker ended his day in such a devastating way. My heart goes out to his loved ones and everyone who knew him at the Sentinel.
