The case of Alicia Ann Greer and Jacqueline Moore is absolutely devastating, and my heart goes out to their families and friends. Alicia’s story is a chilling reminder of how terrifying it can be for someone trapped in an abusive relationship. What really stands out to me is the role of law enforcement and how crucial timely intervention is in these situations. Alicia had already reached out to the police after the January 19th attack, bravely reporting Boyette’s violence. It makes me wonder about the kind of support and protection she received afterwards—or perhaps didn't receive. Could things have turned out differently if there had been more aggressive measures in place to track Boyette? It's frustrating to think about the gaps that exist in the system when it comes to protecting domestic violence victims. Alicia did everything right by seeking help, yet she still ended up being hunted down in what was supposed to be a safe hiding place. It’s just an unacceptable failure. I sincerely hope that Alicia’s case prompts serious discussions and changes regarding how authorities handle domestic violence cases moving forward. It shouldn't take a tragedy of this magnitude to spotlight these systemic issues.
