I was reading through some older news articles about the Fiamma Inc. shooting, and I came across something that really struck me. I can’t even begin to imagine what the Lawson family, especially Kevin's wife, Janet, went through when they learned about his death. It seems like there was a lot of frustration on their end with how the information was relayed to them. It's so important for families to receive timely and accurate information during such awful situations. I wish there could have been more direct communication from the authorities to spare them additional heartache amidst their grief. Has anyone here experienced or heard of similar cases where communication was lacking or mishandled? I feel like this is an area that could use more attention and improvement. Thoughts and perspectives would be appreciated. I hope Kevin's family has found some peace in the years since.

I was just thinking about how Kevin Kyle Lawson’s family has handled everything since that awful day in June 2017. I can’t even begin to fathom what his wife, Janet, and their family have been through. It must have been tremendously difficult not only losing Kevin in such a violent manner but also dealing with how poorly the authorities communicated with them afterward. It feels like when families go through something so intensely tragic, they deserve clear, compassionate communication from the start. I also wonder how Kevin’s colleagues have been coping since then. It’s hard to face the reality of losing a friend and coworker so suddenly. It's a conversation worth having about how workplaces can better support their employees in grieving and healing after tragedies like this. My heart goes out to everyone who knew Kevin; he sounded like such a compassionate and giving person, and the community lost someone truly special that day.

Has anyone else been looking into the way authorities communicate with families during tragedies like the Fiamma Inc. shooting? It seems from Janet Lawson’s account that there was a serious lapse in how news was conveyed about the victims. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for her and others, waiting in uncertainty about their loved ones. This kind of situation leaves families in such a vulnerable state, and it seems like there should be a more compassionate and direct approach. It’s not just about getting information quickly, but also about receiving it in a way that respects the emotional turmoil these families endure. Does anyone have insights on how these procedures typically work or how they could be improved?
