I’ve been following the case of Justin VanMeter’s murder, and something that really stands out to me is the role of McIntosh Pierre-Paul. It’s unsettling to think about how he turned off the lights of the car as they approached Justin. This act alone shows a level of premeditation that’s chilling. It’s so difficult to wrap my head around how someone could knowingly involve themselves in such a horrific act, let alone drive away afterward without calling for help. His actions contributed to this terrible loss, and it’s heart-rending to think about the impact on Justin’s fiancée and their young son. My thoughts are with his family and everyone affected by this senseless tragedy. This community deserved better, and so did Justin.

I've been thinking a lot about the getaway vehicle involved in Justin's case. What's really troubling to me is the role of Angela Lavallo. From what I've read, the car was registered in her name, and she was present during the crime. Imagine being in a situation where you see something so terrible unfold and then driving away without doing anything to prevent it or help after it happens. It's chilling. It’s unsettling to think she only got three years for being a felon in possession of a firearm, given the gravity of the crime that unfolded right there in that vehicle. I really feel for Justin's family, especially knowing they have to come to terms with the fact that multiple people had a part in this tragedy. I hope they find some peace in the support of their community, which from all accounts seems incredibly strong and supportive. If more had gone differently that night, maybe Justin’s story would have had a different ending, but his memory will endure through his loved ones.
