I've been following the Vessell case and something that I've been thinking about is the role of bystanders in situations like this. It's tough to imagine living in that apartment complex and hearing or witnessing things leading up to that tragic night. I wonder if anyone had ever tried to help or intervene before, whether it was friends, neighbors, or family members. Sometimes, people feel powerless, or perhaps they don’t know the full extent of what’s happening behind closed doors. It's gut-wrenching to think that maybe, just maybe, someone could have stepped in or provided support in a different way that might have changed the course of events. My heart truly goes out to the families involved. Domestic violence traps so many in impossible situations, and the ripple effects are devastating for everyone connected. I'm just left hoping that more awareness and resources can help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
