Has anyone read any detailed accounts of the mental health evaluations that Rafael Azulay went through during his legal proceedings? I'm trying to get a better understanding of how he was deemed incompetent at one point but then found competent later on. It's such a tragic case, and it's difficult to reconcile the violent actions with the plea deal he received. Mental health seems to be a big factor in this case, and I can't help but wonder if more could have been done earlier to prevent this tragedy. Asher Azulay seemed to be well-loved by his community, and I can't imagine the pain his family must be feeling. It's just so sad all around.
