Just wanted to share something regarding the ongoing case of Lavert Durden's tragic passing. I recently attended one of the community gatherings organized by his family, and the sense of determination and resilience was palpable. It was both moving and sobering to see the strength of Lavert’s mother, April Sherman, as she spoke about her son and her relentless quest for justice. Her words resonated with many of us, as she highlighted the need not only for action from the authorities but also for unity within the community. For those who might not be aware, these gatherings aren’t just about seeking justice for Lavert. The family, especially April, is working tirelessly to address the broader issue of violence that’s plagued West Augustine. It’s about stopping the cycle so no other family has to endure the pain they’re going through. Let's continue to support them any way we can and push for progress in this case. We owe it to Lavert, Charles, Staffon, and their families to keep their memories alive and ensure their stories are not forgotten. If anyone reading this has any information, I urge you to come forward. The community’s voice is powerful, and together, we can call for the justice these men deserve.
