Has anyone else been thinking about the role of 911 dispatchers in situations like this? I can't help but feel for the dispatcher who had to speak with Noel Flores during those tense hours. Imagine trying to calm someone who's clearly in distress, knowing you've got lives on the line. It's such a heavy responsibility, and I can’t imagine the mental toll it must take. I wonder if there are any protocols or specific training they receive for these types of standoffs. It just seems like such an impossible task to talk someone down when they're resolute in their decision. My heart goes out not only to Arthur Johnson's family and friends but also to everyone involved in trying to resolve the situation. It's a sad reminder of how important mental health resources are, both for those in crisis and the professionals who handle these emergencies.
