I’ve been following Alejandro's case for a while, and I’ve been thinking about how chilling it is that Denin Williams, the 16-year-old involved, was shot and killed himself not long after Alejandro’s murder. It's a haunting reminder of how senseless cycles of violence can be. Though Williams' story ended before he could face justice for his role, I can't help but wonder what led two teenagers down such a destructive path where such tragic outcomes seemed almost inevitable. It feels like a lost opportunity for accountability and redemption that could have perhaps prevented even more violence. It's so sad for both families involved—Alejandro's and Denim's. I hope somewhere in this tragedy, there's a lesson learned that helps prevent this kind of senselessness in the future. It's essential we keep discussing the root causes to help protect other young lives from being lost this way.
I was really struck by how long it took to bring Alejandro's case to a resolution. It's so frustrating to think about the years his family had to wait for justice. Imagine living through those long days without answers, knowing the person responsible was still out there. I commend the cold case unit for their determination in re-examining his case. I can't help but wonder why it takes so long sometimes for cases like this to be prioritized. It seems like there are always so many hurdles—whether it's a lack of evidence initially or the complexities of tracking down suspects involved in multiple crimes. It just feels like the system sometimes lets families down. Hopefully, Alejandro's family finds some peace now that Florence is behind bars, and maybe this renewed attention will help solve other cases too. My thoughts are definitely with his loved ones as they continue to deal with this tragedy.
