It’s devastating to see another young life like Andre Germaine Jr. Clark's cut short by the violence plaguing Baltimore. My heart goes out to his family and friends who are left to grapple with this senseless tragedy. I can’t help but wonder about the role of community trust in cases like these. It’s been well-documented that many residents in Baltimore have lost faith in law enforcement following the unrest earlier in 2015. This lack of trust probably impacts the willingness of witnesses to come forward with information that could help solve these cases. Without solid community support and cooperation, it's sadly no surprise that so many murders remain unsolved. How can we expect justice for victims and peace for their families when this basic trust has been shattered? It makes me think about what effective steps can be taken to rebuild these crucial relationships and give families like Andre’s a chance at closure. Thoughts?
