The lack of progress in Rashaad Kelly's case just leaves me feeling so frustrated and anxious for the community. It's deeply unsettling that there's been no closure yet for his family and friends. I recently attended the NAACP community discussion on June 20, 2019, and it was heartening to see so many people come together with the shared goal of finding a solution to gun violence in East Stuart. Jimmy Smith did a great job of facilitating the discussion, and it was clear how much he and others are dedicated to bringing about change. But it's hard not to wonder how we can make even more of a difference. How do we encourage those with knowledge to speak up? The idea of more community events to spread awareness seems promising, but I'm curious to hear if anyone else has suggestions or knows of successful strategies used elsewhere. My thoughts remain with Rashaad's family, hoping they soon find the justice and peace they deserve.
