I can't stop thinking about Kelavin Weaver's case and the ripple effects it's having on the Baltimore community. It’s been years, and yet, the pain for his family and friends must feel fresh every day. What strikes me is how, in the wider panorama of violence that year, each individual story seems to get silenced by the noise of statistics, but these are real people with real lives. Kelavin was more than just a number—a son, a friend, maybe a brother or father, taken away in an environment that feels like it's been spiraling out of control.
I keep wondering if there’s something that could have been done differently to gain more traction in his investigation. His case didn't seem to draw enough visibility, especially with so much unrest happening around the same time. I can only hope that with advancements in technology or fresh perspectives, his case can be revisited and some justice brought to the Weaver family. If anyone has ideas on how to bring more attention to unsolved cases like his, it would be a small, yet possibly impactful step for their community. Every single effort could mean a world to families waiting for answers.
