I came across the case of Thomas William Richey and one thing I can't stop thinking about is the cable car situation. The setup of that cable car rigged above the Rogue River seems kind of unique. Was this a common method for fishing in the 1950s? I wonder if any other anglers had incidents with the cable car system? It just seems strange that his fishing gear was left there, but no sign of a struggle or him being there afterward. Maybe talking to other locals who used similar methods back in the day might shed some light or at least offer clues as to whether these setups had caused issues in the past. I can't imagine the kind of pain his family experienced, especially since they had already faced such similar tragedies.
