I’ve been following the case of Ivelisse Alvarado Sanchez and wanted to touch on something that's been bothering me. The bravery of Ivelisse's 13-year-old son who survived such a terrifying ordeal deserves acknowledgment. Surviving an attack like this, being injured, and losing your mom all at once is unimaginable for anyone, let alone a young teenager. I hope that he’s receiving the support and counseling he needs to process this trauma. Sometimes in these discussions, especially when there's a focus on bringing the perpetrators to justice, the plight of family members, especially kids, can be unintentionally sidelined. It’s equally important that as a community, we think about how to support those left behind in the aftermath of such tragedies. Sending love and strength to everyone who knew and loved Ivelisse. May support networks grow stronger around her son and family. If anyone in the Miami area knows of community services offering help to children affected by such violence, please chime in. They could really use that information.

Has anyone else seen the surveillance footage that was released in the Ivelisse Alvarado Sanchez case? It's chilling to watch, knowing how it ended. I feel so terrible for her family and especially her kids — I can’t imagine the trauma her son must be going through, being injured and losing his mom all at once. It makes me wonder what the shooters were after and if they really targeted the right house with the intent they claimed. It’s frustrating to see this lack of progress despite the footage. I really hope someone steps up and shares what they know. Staying silent only prolongs the pain and fear for the family and the community. If you have any information, no matter how small, please consider reaching out to the authorities. The family deserves answers and to see those responsible face justice.
