I can't stop thinking about the courage Dorianne must have had, working as a security guard at just 18. It takes someone with a lot of strength and maturity to handle that kind of responsibility, especially knowing she had been threatened. The fact that she was on the phone with her mother at the time makes this even more tragic. I can't imagine the horror her mother must have felt, being on the other end of that call. It's such a stark reminder of the risks people in security roles face, often with little acknowledgement or appreciation. Dorianne deserved to feel safe at her job and not be confronted with such violent threats. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones—she was so close to her birthday and undoubtedly had a bright future ahead. I hope the focus now turns to how we can better protect those who work in similar roles and ensure this doesn’t happen again.

I've been following Dorianne's case closely and can't stop thinking about her mother. Imagine being on the phone, just casually catching up with your daughter, and then hearing such a horrific event unfold in real-time. My heart goes out to her mom and the rest of her family as they navigate such a profound loss. It's unimaginable, and the trauma from that phone call must be haunting. As someone who works night shifts, I also wonder about the support systems in place for security guards who face such risks. It's a tragic reminder of how vulnerable they are, especially when working alone. How can communities better protect those who are looking out for everyone else’s safety? Hoping for continual healing for Dorianne's loved ones.
