Has anyone else been following the trial proceedings for Ladevon Cottingham? I can't imagine how difficult this whole process must be for Takeria Adderly's family, having to relive such a traumatic event. It's truly devastating to think about how much Adderly meant to her community – everyone who knew her described her as a vibrant soul who always wanted to help others. The fact that she was just trying to do a good deed and ended up in such a tragic situation really hits hard. Cottingham's past crimes and the way he continued to commit more after being released is unsettling. How did someone with such a violent history end up back on the streets so quickly? I really hope this trial brings some form of closure to her loved ones and the Lakeland community that is still reeling from the loss. What do you all think about the justice system in cases like this? It feels like there needs to be more to prevent these kinds of repeat offenses.
