Has anyone else been thinking about the escalation of disputes nowadays? It's just so surreal to think that something as mundane as going into a barbershop for a haircut can end in such tragedy. Poor Jose Luis Contreras Carmona - I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through. And to think, it all unraveled so quickly from a slap to shots fired. While it's never okay to resort to violence, it seems like we’ve seen an uptick in these kinds of situations turning fatal in recent years. On another note, I’m relieved that the Miami-Dade Police acted swiftly in identifying and arresting Guillermo Alejandro Gazapo-Figueroa. It shows that justice is being taken seriously, but it's such a heartbreaking event all around. Does anyone know if there's been any progress regarding community programs around FIU to address conflict resolution or prevent these horrendous incidents? My heart goes out to the family and friends of Jose.
