Has anyone else been thinking about how different this case might have played out if there was better education around gun safety? I mean, it's such a tragedy, and my heart truly goes out to Kelsey's family and friends. It's unfathomable what they are going through. But I keep thinking about how a lack of understanding about firearms can lead to these devastating situations. The boyfriend's claim that he was spinning the gun around his finger sounds reckless, especially given his age. With minors having access to firearms, it's more important than ever for comprehensive gun safety education to be more accessible. I can’t help but wonder if situations like this could be prevented if we put more focus on teaching young people about the dangers of handling guns improperly. A single moment of carelessness has resulted in a life lost and many lives shattered. What do you all think? Could education have made a difference here?

Has anyone else been following the details about the investigation into where the gun came from? I find it really unsettling that a 17-year-old had access to a firearm in the first place. With the boyfriend stating it was given to him by someone else, I'm curious if they’ve traced that back to see if there was any negligence involved in how this gun ended up in a minor's hands. It's so crucial to hold people accountable in these situations to prevent similar tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to Kelsey's family and friends who are navigating this unimaginable loss, and I hope the investigation sheds light on how such a preventable situation occurred. Thoughts?
