I've been thinking a lot about the witnesses who were there that night at Ackerman Park and had to watch the tragedy unfold. I can't imagine the kind of trauma they must be dealing with, knowing they were just out for a night of fun and it turned into something unimaginable. Many of them were Dylan's friends—fellow classmates and teammates who probably laughed with him earlier that evening. Having to come forward to testify must've been incredibly difficult, yet their courage in speaking up is commendable. It’s vital that their voices are heard in order to bring justice for Dylan. I hope they are getting the support and counseling they need to process this trauma. They too are part of this heartbreaking story, and I really hope the community continues to surround them with love and strength.
