I was diving into some old articles and was reminded of the John Joseph Downey disappearance from 1982 in West Haven. Something that caught my attention was the unique scar on his neck. It's a pretty specific detail—I'm surprised it hasn't led to more concrete tips or sightings over the years. Could it be possible that someone out there might remember seeing someone with a similar scar, but it just didn't click back then? Maybe they thought it was just an unrelated injury? Or perhaps records of similar injuries could be cross-referenced with missing persons? I’m sure the public’s memory might be foggy after all these years, but sometimes these unique details can be crucial. What do you all think about how identifying physical marks are treated in missing person cases? Is enough being done to leverage them for leads?
