Has anyone here looked into the weather conditions around the time Richard Banyots went missing? I was curious if the heavy flooding of the Monongahela River might have made it easier for evidence to be swept away. I'm trying to piece together why no trace of his remains has been found despite the fairly detailed accounts and convictions. Usually, rivers can carry objects a great distance, but considering the area was being actively searched, it's surprising nothing has been discovered. Maybe there's a chance that something crucial was moved out of the immediate search radius by the floodwaters? It feels like another little piece of this mystery waiting to be solved.
I was looking through some old newspaper archives and found a detail about Richard Banyots' case that really intrigued me. Apparently, when they searched his bedroom after his disappearance, the police found his wallet and ID still on the nightstand. It's so bizarre considering he left after that mysterious phone call. Why would someone leave without their wallet? Could he have been planning to come right back, or maybe he was coerced into leaving quickly? This just makes me think there might be more to that call than we've heard about. I can't shake the thought there might have been additional people involved, or that someone on the phone convinced him he didn't need to take anything. Anyone have thoughts on this angle?
