On February 8, 2023, 41-year-old Timothy Snyder was fatally shot in Selawik, Alaska. His body was discovered in a tote at the local dump later that evening. Alaska State Troopers, upon receiving the report, dispatched investigators to the village at first light on February 9. Their investigation led to the arrest of 47-year-old Lance Brickey, who was charged with second-degree murder, evidence tampering, and weapons misconduct in connection with Snyder's death.
