I recently came across the tragic case of Officer Loren D. Scruggs, and I can't stop thinking about the impact this had on his family and fellow officers. It’s hard to fathom the pain and confusion they must have felt, especially with the assailant's motive never being known. Losing a loved one in such an unexpected and senseless manner must be incredibly difficult to process. My heart goes out to them and the entire law enforcement community who lost a dedicated colleague that day. It's crucial that we continue to support the families and departments who suffer such losses, remembering the sacrifices made by those who serve to keep us safe.
