The memorial tree and the naming of "Cate Drive" are touching tributes, but I can't imagine they fully encompass the loss his family and community feel. It's an everyday reminder of the risks officers take to keep us safe. Detective Cate's story is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices behind the badge and the fragility of life.
