Did anyone else here feel a bit chilled when they learned Patrolman Anaya had only been with the SDPD for nine months before that awful day? It hits hard to think about how he was still probably getting used to the job and all its challenges—a young officer with his whole career ahead of him. I can't imagine the pain his family felt, knowing how dedicated he was to serving his community. It really underscores how quickly life can change for these officers and the bravery they exhibit daily. Serious respect for those who continue to put themselves in harm's way, knowing the risks all too well. Sending thoughts to everyone who knew and loved him.
