Michael T. Anaya, a 25-year-old patrolman with the San Diego Police Department, tragically lost his life on April 11, 1979, after succumbing to injuries sustained in an incident on March 21, 1979. On that fateful day, Patrolman Anaya responded to a distress call involving a man attacking his family with a knife in the 4100 block of Altadena Avenue.
