Hey everyone, I stumbled upon Clair Cox's case recently and it just got me thinking about the role of memory in these situations. Clair was dealing with dementia when he vanished, which makes me wonder how many other missing person cases out there involve individuals with memory issues. It's a terrifying thought. Just imagine how disoriented he must have felt if he wandered off thinking he was heading somewhere familiar. I wonder if there's more that can be done to track and assist individuals with dementia. Does anyone know if there were any witness reports from the time he went missing? Maybe someone saw him on the street and just didn’t realize he was missing. Thoughts?
I've been going through some old newspaper archives about missing persons, and I stumbled upon Clair Cox's case again. What strikes me as intriguing is the lack of media coverage back in the late '80s. Given that he had dementia, you'd think there would have been more community outreach or news bulletins trying to track him down. It's troubling how some cases seem to vanish from public awareness over time. Does anyone know if there were any substantial search efforts in surrounding neighborhoods or if the community was actively aiding the investigation back then? Would love to hear if anyone recalls any local efforts or has any additional info.
