Leroy Harris Bird, Jr. was 45 when he was last seen in Kinzers, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on May 13, 1988. Described as slender and about five feet four to five feet six inches tall, he weighed roughly 100 to 110 pounds, had short brown hair and was clean-shaven. He had two notable scars: one from an appendectomy and another on his upper chest.
The circumstances of his disappearance are largely unknown. Authorities list the details as unknown; there is no public information about what he was wearing, where he might have been going, whether he had transportation, or what he was doing that day. The Pennsylvania State Police in Lancaster opened and have handled the investigation, which has since grown cold with no significant public leads or breakthroughs.
This is a case of sustained uncertainty: a man who simply vanished from his community with no clear explanation. Did anyone in Kinzers in May 1988 see Leroy or have information that could help explain his disappearance?
