Has anyone looked into the reported sighting of Joe Clyde Lessley in Solvang back in '88? It's always seemed odd to me that such a specific sighting was reported but never thoroughly pursued or expanded upon in the news. Solvang isn’t a huge place, so I would think that any bit of public attention could've generated more leads. If he thought his car was stolen there, did anyone ever check if there was indeed a car abandoned matching his somewhere nearby? With his Alzheimer's, he could have wandered further or accepted help from someone posing as a good Samaritan. It's a stretch, but perhaps following that angle could provide new insights? It's been so many years, but maybe someone from Solvang back then remembers something. It's sad how cases like this can just fall through the cracks even when there were some apparent leads.

Hey everyone, I came across something intriguing while looking into Joe Clyde Lessley's case. Has anyone else seen those reports about a man fitting his description being seen in Solvang a couple of days after he vanished? It's so puzzling. I mean, for someone with Alzheimer's to seemingly travel that distance alone is mysterious in itself. If indeed it was him, what did he do between the time he left home and when he was supposedly spotted there? Solvang is about 130 miles from LA, right? It's a long way to go, especially if he was confused. Part of me wonders if someone might've given him a lift, intentionally or unintentionally. Has anyone come across other cases where missing people with Alzheimer’s show up far from home under similar circumstances? Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has any additional details.

Did anyone else find it odd that Joe Clyde Lessley was reportedly seen in Solvang just two days after he went missing? Solvang is over 100 miles away from Los Angeles, and with his Alzheimer's condition, it's puzzling how he managed to get there. Plus, he thought his car had been stolen, which makes it seem like he either drove or someone else took him there. Has anyone looked into transportation records or possible sightings along the route? With so few leads, it's worth considering every little detail that might uncover new insights. Would love to hear what others think!
