Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about how Officer Stephens’ shooting unfolded, especially the moments right before he was shot. It must have been such a chaotic and terrifying few minutes for him and his partner. It’s just hard to wrap my head around the fact that they were responding to what seemed like a routine call, only for it to turn deadly in an instant. My heart goes out to his partner, too. It must be incredibly difficult to cope with such a traumatic event, not to mention the guilt and what-ifs that must linger. None of this is easy for anyone involved, and it’s a stark reminder of the unpredictable and dangerous nature of police work. I truly hope Officer Stephens’ family and colleagues found some solace in the justice that followed, though I know it can never be enough. Let's all remember to keep them in our thoughts, especially with the upcoming anniversary of this tragedy.
