I’ve been reading through the details surrounding Rudolfo Roque's murder in 1986, and it’s so appalling to think about his last moments. I can't imagine what his family must have gone through receiving such terrible news. What stands out to me about this case is how it highlights the vulnerability of victims on the streets during that time. The fact that Michael Player, aka "Marcus Nisby," could operate with relative ease in such a densely populated area is alarming. It seems like there was such a lack of resources for these people in Skid Row, which must have made it extremely challenging for the community and law enforcement to protect them. Does anyone know if there were any long-term changes made in response to these tragic events? It's a testament to the bravery of that one surviving victim who came forward and provided a crucial description. Without that, who knows how long Player might have continued his spree. It's just so haunting thinking about what could have happened if that lead hadn't materialized. Thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
