Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about how Ryoko Hanano's murder must have impacted the community back in 1988. It's just so difficult to wrap one's mind around something so violent happening in what should have been a normal transaction. I can't even imagine the ripple effect this had on neighbors and friends of the Hananos. There’s this bit that’s not always talked about: the part played by Nanette Scheid. It's so unsettling to think of how she managed to gain the Hananos' trust, pretending to be a genuine buyer. It makes you wonder how such manipulative behavior evades notice until it’s too late. Her involvement as an accomplice underscores how some people might be drawn into criminal acts, whether through desperation or manipulation, and how even the most mundane interactions can turn dangerous. Sending all my thoughts to Ryoko's family and those who knew her. I hope this discussion continues to remind us all to be vigilant, especially in personal transactions, even while we extend trust to those we think are genuine. ??
