I was reading about Howard Epstein's case again today, and I couldn't help but think about the impact on his family. It’s gut-wrenching to imagine how they must feel, years later, knowing there’s still no answer to who did this or why. The chaos of the riots in '92 is something I vaguely remember hearing about, but for those who lived through it, especially victims' families, the pain must still feel fresh. It seemed like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for Howard that day. I wonder if better coordination among law enforcement back then might have changed the outcome for him and others who suffered similar fates. Does anyone know if Howard's family has ever spoken publicly about the investigation, or if there's been any renewed interest in the case in recent years from either the LAPD or the media? Keeping his story alive might just lead to someone coming forward with the missing piece.

Hey folks, I've been reading up on the 1992 LA riots and came across the story of Howard Epstein. There's so much heartbreak tied to his case, but something that really stands out is the virtually impossible task the police had with the investigation amid such chaos. It's hard to imagine how any justice could be pursued when the whole city was in turmoil, officers spread thin, and evidence gone up in smoke, literally and figuratively. I'm curious, has anyone dug into how the LAPD approached reopening cold cases from that period? I know there were critiques on their handling at the time, but with advancements in technology, maybe there's hope for cases like Epstein's. His family deserves answers, and it feels like there might be more that can be done now than back in the 90s. Love to hear any thoughts or updates if anyone's got them.

Hey everyone, I've been diving into the cases from the 1992 LA riots and came across Howard Epstein's story. It's just so devastating to think about what his family must have gone through, losing him in such a brutal way. I was reading about how he managed a machine shop in South-Central LA. Does anyone know if the shop survived the riots and what happened to it afterwards? I feel like understanding the aftereffects on his business could shed more light on the environment he was navigating that day. It's all so senseless, and the fact that his case is still unsolved makes it even harder to accept. If anyone has more information or insights, I'd really appreciate it. Sending love to his family and those who knew him.
