Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of movie theaters and their responsibilities after seeing some discussions on the case of Marco Delgado Jr. It’s really unsettling how a simple outing to watch a movie like “Dead Presidents” could end up in such a horrific way. It raises serious questions about how theaters enforce age restrictions.
I know the court case didn't go anywhere against AMC, but shouldn't there be stricter policies or even some oversight when movies with intense content are shown to minors? Marco was just 13. I can't help but think if things might have played out differently if the theater had adhered more strictly to the rating guidelines. It’s just so hard to wrap my head around it all.
For Marco’s family, I wish there could have been some sense of justice or at least acknowledgment from the theater. The pain they must be going through is unimaginable. I hope something positive can come out of this tragedy, like better enforcement of movie ratings, to prevent any similar situations in the future.
Thoughts?
Stay safe everyone!
I was reading through some details about the Marco Delgado case and can't help but think about the impact it must have had on youth movie attendance policies back in the '90s. The fact that Marco and his friends were able to get into an R-rated film without any adult supervision is really concerning. It makes you wonder if theaters became stricter with their check-ins after this incident, even though the lawsuit against AMC didn't lead to any changes in law or policy.
It’s so sad that Marco’s family had to endure not only the loss of their child but also the frustration of the legal proceedings that followed. I can't imagine the pain of confronting those involved and feeling let down by the system. Has anyone come across information about whether theater policies across the board were influenced by this case, even on a smaller scale? It seems like something that would have sparked some internal reviews to prevent another tragedy. Keeping Marco and his family in my thoughts.
Hey everyone,
I'm just sitting here reflecting on the tragic case of Marco Anthony Delgado Jr., and something that keeps popping into my mind is the role of parental guidance and community responsibility. It’s absolutely devastating to think about how a night out watching a movie turned into such a tragedy.
While the legal case against AMC didn't hold, it makes me wonder about the broader implications for our communities. As a society, are we doing enough to protect our kids? Should there be more in place to prevent situations like this? I can't help but feel like there’s a lesson here about ensuring kids have proper guidance and supervision in situations where influences can be overwhelming.
My heart goes out to Marco’s family. No family should have to endure such a loss. If anything positive can come from this, I hope it's a renewed discussion on how we can better safeguard our children and create safer environments for them to enjoy their formative years.
Would love to hear what you all think about how communities can step up in these situations.
Thanks for letting me share.
