Jennifer Lee Jenny Villarin, 45, was found shot to death on August 3, 2000, in Woodacre, California. Villarin, a bartender at the Papermill Saloon, was house-sitting in the upstairs studio apartment rented by her daughter, Selina Bishop. Neighbors reported hearing six to eight gunshots early that morning and a vehicle speeding away. Villarin and her boyfriend, James Gamble, were discovered in bed and had both been shot; robbery was quickly ruled out and investigators said the attack did not appear random.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Department assigned multiple deputies, deployed a sheriff’s helicopter and used search dogs in the area. Woodacre residents were stunned: the town reportedly had not experienced a homicide in 14 years. Selina Bishop was away camping when the shooting occurred.

Selina Bishop was later found murdered, her body dismembered and hidden in a duffel bag in the Mokelumne River, and investigators said her death was connected to a broader web of crimes involving several individuals. Multiple arrests and charges followed as authorities pursued those ties. Does anyone have information about Villarin, Gamble, or Bishop’s movements in Woodacre around late July and early August 2000?
