I recently came across Rosa Maria Garcia's case again, and something that keeps bothering me is the role—if any—of surveillance footage in this investigation. Back in 2002, CCTV footage might not have been as pervasive as it is today, but I'm curious about whether any businesses or traffic cameras in Wilmington had captured footage on July 26. I read that evidence gathering was a big part of the investigation in those early days. It's incredibly frustrating that despite the efforts, no arrests were made, and I can only imagine how powerless her family must feel. While technology has come a long way since then, I hope the detectives can leverage advancements to reexamine whatever evidence or footage is available. It could potentially provide some new insights or reignite public interest in the case, leading to that crucial tip or lead. Does anyone know if there have been any recent attempts to re-examine the case, perhaps with modern tech?
