I can't believe how long it took to finally bring charges against the other two suspects in Chan's case. While I'm glad they were eventually held accountable, the decade-long wait for her family must have been agonizing. It just seems unfathomable to endure that kind of uncertainty and delay when you’ve already suffered such a monumental loss. And to see the family disappointed by the plea deals after enduring so much—it’s genuinely difficult to wrap one’s mind around. Does anyone know if the extended time it took to resolve this case is typical for gang-related crimes, or was this an unusual situation? My heart goes out to Chan’s family and everyone in the community who continues to bear this burden. This kind of violence shouldn’t exist, but it’s a stark reminder of the real people left in its wake.
