Has anyone seen or heard of any community initiatives in East Hollywood in support of Servando Ruiz's family? It's truly saddening to think of them living without answers for so long. I think sometimes we underestimate the power of community support in keeping these cold cases alive in public memory. It would be amazing if local groups or even schools could come together to hold a vigil or a remembrance event for him, just to bring some attention back to his case. Even if it doesn't lead directly to justice, it could remind people that he hasn't been forgotten, and sometimes, just knowing that people care can make a difference. If anyone knows of any efforts like this or wants to start one, let's brainstorm and maybe we can help bring some sense of comfort to his family.

Does anyone else find it puzzling that there seems to have been no follow-up on any potential gang connections in Servando Ruiz's case? Given the area where it happened, one might expect that gangs could be involved or at least have relevant information. I wonder if the LAPD explored this aspect thoroughly or if maybe there were barriers to getting community members to talk. It's gut-wrenching to think that someone out there knows something but might feel too scared to speak up. It must be incredibly difficult for Servando's family to keep hoping for answers year after year. If anyone on this forum has insight into how cases like these get handled, especially with potential gang ties, I'd be very interested to hear it. It feels like drawing attention to these possibilities could help bring some much-needed resolution to his loved ones.
