I’ve been following the case of Shaquan Trusty’s tragic death, and it’s incredibly sad to think about how young he was. One thing that's been on my mind is the environment that these young people are growing up in. It’s not just the individual cases of violence but the broader pattern that seems to persist. How do we tackle this systemic issue? Community programs and support for young people could potentially offer a path forward, but it's such a complex problem that there’s no easy fix. I can’t even imagine the pain Shaquan’s family must be going through, knowing their son was caught up in something so senseless. My heart goes out to them, and I hope for some resolution and peace for them. Does anyone know if there’s been any movement or community efforts in Baltimore since 2017 to address these issues? I’d love to hear about what’s being done on the ground to help prevent more tragedies like this.
