I haven't been able to stop thinking about the case of Andres and Ashley Iraheta. I can't imagine the depth of loss their mother, Marta, must feel. What particularly strikes me is the response from the community and the LAPD that night. The fact that officers had already been called earlier due to a domestic disturbance is haunting. It's a chilling reminder of how quickly these situations can turn deadly, even with law enforcement involvement. I wonder, could anything have been done differently to prevent this tragedy? It makes me question the effectiveness of current protocols for handling domestic violence incidents. Are restraining orders enough when someone is clearly volatile and capable of violence? The detectives are urging anyone with more info to come forward, and I hope they do. Maybe sharing what previously happened in that household could provide some closure or help prevent future tragedies. My heart goes out to Marta and all those affected.
